Q. How far in advance do I need to book my wedding dress?
A. Most people book their dress 6 - 12 months in advance. This is not because I need all this time to make the dress but because space in my diary is limited. (Summer as you would expect is busiest and it may be possible to book a wedding dress at short notice but this cannot be guaranteed as I tend to fill the gaps with evening wear, alterations or costumes.) Also sometimes brides like to know what style and colour their dress is going to be so they can also plan bridesmaids and accessories, theme the wedding or colour match flowers cakes etc with swatches of their actual fabrics.
Q. How many fittings will I have?
A. Usually 3 although this can vary depending on the style.
Q. I hope to loose weight what is the latest you can start my dress?
A. 6 weeks before the wedding as long as you can make yourself available for fittings when required. The dress however would still need to be booked in advance so all the fabrics have been ordered and I can plan my diary.
Q. What are your payment terms?
A. I require a 1/3 deposit at booking, this books your space and allows me to purchase the bulk of the materials required. After that most pay an second 1/3 at first fitting and the balance at final fitting. Some brides like to plan their budgets monthly and make smaller regular payments. I am flexible and will work with whichever system suits you. I accept cash or cheque, although it may be possible to make a payment using paypal, or many now choose to pay by direct bank transfer.
